The Unitree 4D LiDAR L2 is a compact laser radar priced at $419, measuring 75 by 75 by 65 mm and weighing 230 g. It features 360 by 96-degree ultra-wide-angle non-repetitive scanning at 64,000 effective points per second (128,000 sampling frequency) with 30 m range at 90 percent reflectivity, 0.05 m minimum blind spot, and under 2.0 cm measurement accuracy at 4.5 mm distance resolution. A built-in 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope IMU supports SLAM using the POINT-LIO algorithm without additional positioning sensors. It resists over 100 KLux ambient light for outdoor operation. Communication is via ENET UDP and TTL UART at 5.55 Hz circumferential and 216 Hz vertical scanning frequency. Power consumption is 10 W (13 W peak). It is Class 1 eye-safe per IEC 60825-1:2014. A complete open-source SLAM solution is provided. Targets research and industrial applications for mobile robot perception and autonomous navigation.
