The Shadow Hand and Glove solution merges the Shadow Dexterous Hand with a lightweight Shadow Glove for intuitive robotic manipulation and grasping control. The glove provides minimal latency with 4 ms response (up to 1 ms at 960 Hz), 0.5 mm static position accuracy in XYZ, and a data stream at 120 Hz (up to 960 Hz). Six sensors per glove with one source provide precise motion tracking, in a minimalist, lightweight design with universal sizing for uninhibited control. An open frame design allows custom feedback mechanisms. The Shadow Dexterous Hand features over 120 sensors and 20 motors providing 24 degrees of freedom with tendon-driven adduct and abduct movement at 1 kHz control rate via EtherCAT, fully ROS integrated. Data recording and rich real-time output accelerate mechanical analysis, machine learning, and AI research. The system is used in hazardous environments, clean rooms, and remote collaborative research projects. Shadow Robot received the 2020 Awards.AI and 2019 AIconics Award for Best Innovation in AI Hardware. Targets research in dexterous manipulation, teleoperation, and machine learning.
